Hello everyone !
Today i want to share my favorite food, which is called "sayur santan daging" or meat coconut soup, this is actually traditional food from Indonesia, and I usually cook this food in Indonesian way. But, if you can found the ingredients in your place, I recommend you to try this right away!
what i love about this soup, you can replace the meat with tofu/ tempeh/ potatoes/ or just random vegetables and it's still working!
Ingredients: P.S: you can adjust the ingredients to your preferences, but not to make things so much.
- 6 cloves of garlic
- 12 cloves of shallots (cut 3 cloves and fried separated)
- 2/4 ounce chili (optional)
- 1 segments galangal (clean)
- 1 leek
- pepper and coriander to taste
- 2 lime leaves
- 3 candlenuts
- 2 segments of turmeric (clean)
- 2 segments of lemongrass (break it little)
- 2 parts of bay leaves
- 1/2 liter coconut milk
-1/2 water
*For the meat :
-Boiled meats until they were perfectly soft, then separated the meat from broth.
-If you using tofu/ tempeh/ or potatoes do not boil them.
*Put inside blender machine, until they perfectly blend like this :
- then, prepare the frying pan, then add the blended spices, usually, the spices are still left on the blender. you can use water to clean the blender and add the water to the frying pan too. Cook under a small fire for 1 minute or until the water evaporates a little. give 1/2 spoon salt and (optional: msg) then add meats (or if you using tofu/tempeh) and mix perfectly. remember this is done without oil in the frying pan.
then stir it until the water evaporates completely, then add oil a little. stir it for a couple of minutes, then turn off the fire.
- let's take the broth, and heat it up on the stove until boiling. then put the meat to broth.
